General Terms of Humboldt University for the Teaching Program Lab-Animal-Training
These general terms all contractual relationships between the course participants (customers) and Humboldt University as part of the "lab animal training" teaching program organized by the Department of Cognitive Neurobiology at the Institute of Biology (Prof. Dr. Y. Winter). Terms and conditions of the participants are ineffective. By registering, students accept these terms and conditions.
2. Conclusion of contract
Registration for our courses can be made by post, by e-mail or via our web site and constitutes a binding offer by the student. We can accept this offer within 10 days. The contract is concluded upon receipt of the registration confirmation by the student by post, e-mail or fax.
The eligibility for a specific course may be transferred to a replacement participant who is named in writing. This replacement participant has no additional costs.
Cancellation up to four weeks before the event is free of charge. It must always be in writing. After this period, the full participation fee is due in case of withdrawal or non-appearance of a registered student.
3.3. Force majeure
If a participant cannot attend the event for reasons of force majeure (illness, weather conditions, etc.) in the short term, there is no entitlement to a refund of the participation fee. Further liability or damage claims are also excluded.
4. Entry fees and payment terms
The participation fee is calculated per participant and is exclusive of VAT. It is due for payment upon invoicing and must be transferred to the account shown on the invoice.
5. Event breakdown and changes
In case of cancellation of events by the organizer for organizational reasons or due to force majeure, the full participation fee will be refunded. Further liability or damage claims are excluded. This includes claims for the cost of travel or accommodation. Humboldt University as organizer reserves the right to change or relocate. In exceptional cases, a change of speakers or a change in the program is possible, as long as the overall character of the course is maintained. Changes of this kind do not entitle the course participants to resign or to reduce the participation fee.
Humboldt University is not liable for theft, property damage or accidents during the training events or on the round trips to and from the venues. For health risks arising from contact with animals, Humboldt University assumes no liability. We expressly point out that in case of allergic reactions to animals there is no entitlement to a refund of the participation fee. Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the "lab animal training" teaching program.
The student agrees to the storage and processing of personal data for the purpose of course performance within the framework of the Berlin Data Protection Act (BlnDSG). A transfer of personal data to third parties does not occur.
8. Protection of copyright
The written material relating to the courses is protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or distributed without the written consent of the organizer or the author.
In the event that any provision of these terms and conditions should or will be wholly or partially invalid, the effectiveness of the remainder shall not be affected. In place of the wholly or partially invalid provision, the legally valid provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the ineffective applies.
Jurisdiction is Berlin. German law applies.
